Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Secure your account with two-factor authentication.

Overview

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a critical layer of security to your account. By requiring a second form of verification during login, it ensures that even if your password is compromised, unauthorized users cannot access your data.

Setting Up 2FA

We strongly recommend using an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password) rather than relying solely on passwords.

  1. Navigate to Settings > Security in the Delivami App.
  2. Click Enable 2FA.
  3. Open your preferred authenticator app and scan the provided QR code.
  4. Enter the 6-digit verification code generated by the app.
  5. Securely save the backup codes provided on the next screen.

Backup Codes

When you enable 2FA, you are issued a set of backup codes. These are one-time-use recovery codes that allow you to bypass 2FA if you lose access to your authenticator app (e.g., if you lose your phone).

Important Rules

  1. Store them securely: Print them out or save them in a secure password manager.
  2. One-time use: Each code can only be used once.
  3. Never share them: Backup codes grant direct access to your account.

Using a Backup Code

  1. On the login screen, enter your email and password.
  2. When prompted for your 2FA code, click Use a backup code.
  3. Enter one of your unused backup codes to sign in.

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to Settings > Security.
  2. Click Disable 2FA.
  3. You will be required to enter a current 2FA code or a backup code to confirm the deactivation.

Disabling 2FA significantly reduces the security of your account and your clients' sensitive delivery data. We highly advise against disabling it unless you are immediately migrating to a new authenticator device.
